Blood calcium level always plays an important role in animal health. Drop in normal blood calcium levels below 8 mg/dl leads to Hypocalcaemia. Drop in blood calcium levels may lead to Metritis, Dystocia , Mastitis, Ketosis, RFM, etc. Severe calcium depletion is seen at the time to calving, unless well supplemented, will lead to Milk fever.
